My Favorite Reads Of 2014

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you all found and enjoyed lots of book goodness this year. I originally planned on doing a top 10 favorite reads for 2014, but as the list grew I quickly realized that I would just have to go with a favorites list instead! They are not listed in order of favorite because I enjoyed them all thoroughly. They were each excellent reads for me just in different ways. I was lucky to discover new as well as new to me authors over the last year. Good series are one of my book weaknesses and I found more than a few that I want to dive into. My TBR list is so ridiculously long that I will never be able to read them all. Yet, I gleefully continue to add to the list almost daily. I have decided that in 2015 I will no longer bemoan it's length, it's just a waste of time, so I am embracing my book addiction for what it is!

I'm wishing you all happiness, success, and lots of book love in 2015! Without further ado, here are my favorite reads of 2014! Enjoy!

After reading FLAWED I couldn't get the characters out of my mind for days! Phal's writing is hauntingly disturbing and if you have the stomach to witness everything that is thrown at you in this story you won't ever forget it! You can read my review of this one here.

Sienna Mynx is one of my favorite authors and is the author of one of my all time favorite IR romance series, THE BATTAGLIA MAFIA series. Mynx knows how to write a romance that draws the reader in. This series is what a family saga should be and LA FAMIGLIA was no exception! You can read my review of this one here.

What can I say? Any Black Dagger Brotherhood book will be automatically bought by me and quickly devoured. I love the world created by Ward. In THE KING ward continues to reveal Wraths's struggle and we begin to see a new direction for the series. I for one loved this one and I'm excited to see where Ward will take us next. You can see my review of this one here.

I am not a huge New Adult romance fan, but Julie Richman takes her characters from college into adulthood so wonderfully that I couldn't help but fall in love with this series. Richman is one of the authors that I had never read before and I asked for a copy for a blog tour. Once I started this series I couldn't get enough and enjoyed every bit of it! You can read my review of the the books here.

Here's a bonus-at the time of posting book 1 SEARCHING FOR MOORE is free at Amazon!

Although I was sad to see the NIGHT HUNTRESS SERIES come to an end, I was thrilled with the way that Frost closed it out. This series ended before it became repetitive or disappointing. Cat and Bones will always be one of my favorite paranormal couples. The world isn't left completely behind as Frost does have spin off series that are continuing, but UP FROM THE GRAVE was definitely a good example of how to end a series on a high note! You can read my review of this one here

THE SWEETEST TABOO is author Harper Miller's debut novel and I really enjoyed it. It's an IR erotic love story that was easy to read. Although she gave us a complete story there was plenty of room left for more. I will be actively keeping my eye out for her next book! You can read my review of this one here.

BEAUTIFUL WRECK is a wonderfully unique time travel story. Larissa Brown was another new to me author with her first fiction book. It was a wonderful read with unique characters. You can read my review here

TETHERED was an emotional roller coaster of a read. We follow this couple from childhood to adulthood. Beautifully written and full of heartache, misunderstandings, and missteps TETHERED kept me flipping the pages all of the way to the very end. You can read my review here

I also fell in love with a few series this year. The BRIDES OF THE KINDRED series is one that I will definitely be working my way through soon. Although book 1, CLAIMED wasn't one of my favorite books this year, each book gets better and better and the world building is amazing. This series is not for the feint of heart as they are very much erotic in nature and there are some unusual and unique sexual qualities among the different Kindred breeds. CLAIMED is free at Amazon so you can start this series for free. So far my favorite book in the series was Book 4 FOUND. You can read my review for CLAIMED here and FOUND here.

I discovered biker/MC romances this year. With my love affair with Sons of Anarchy spurring me on I decided to try a few romances that revolved around motorcycle clubs and boy did that open up a whole new world of alpha men! The KNIGHTS REBELS MC books hooked me. In this one we not only get a strong and dominant male lead but we also get a strong female character who isn't shy and demure. Kadence is smart and let's Nix know what she wants and needs from him. There are two books in this series so far and book 2 AFFLICTION is just as good as INCANDESCENT. You can read my review of book 1 here and book 2 here

I am unashamed of my love of Sci-Fi/Fantasy romances and Stormie Kent combines my love of IR romance and fantasy stories into one and it was a home run for me! ENSLAVED IN DESIRE is one of 2 books and they are both enjoyable reads. ENSLAVED IN DESIRE is the one that hooked me and I can totally see myself re-reading this one over and over again. The second book is BATTLING RAPTURE. You can read my review of book 1 here and book 2 here

I love a good, well developed, multi book paranormal series. There are currently 13 books in the DARK HUNTER series so Kenyon is definitely delivering to her fans. I just started this series in 2014 and when I got to DANCE WITH THE DEVIL, which is only book 3, Kenyon all but took my breath away. I couldn't believe that a paranormal book about vampires that I thought would be a fairly easy and entertaining read sent me into the ugly cry. Yeah, I'm not afraid to admit it! Zarek broke my heart and I loved every minute of it! You can read my review here

RAIN ON ME was much more than just an erotic BDSM read. This was an emotional read where two people fighting to be whole find each other in a very unconventional way. Both Ray and Zen end up getting much more than they imagined was possible from simple ropes, trust, and a need to connect with someone who is open to meeting needs that neither knew they had. You can read my review of RAIN ON ME here

LOVE ME TO DEATH is a new paranormal release that I really enjoyed. I am in love with this new paranormal world that Clarke has created. It's unique, diverse, and full of potential. I am so looking forward to reading more from Marissa Clarke and was kicking myself for letting this one languish forgotten in my Kindle for so long. You can read my review here

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a HUGE Kristen Ashley fan and no favorites list would be complete for me without a KA book on it! I am trying to read everything that she has written, which is a LOT, and am slowly making my way through all of her series. I've read quite a few of her books in 2014 and it is hard for me to pick my favorite. I'm going to go with BREATHE because it was actually a re-read for me in 2014. I originally read it in October 2013 but had a jones to read it again this year. You can read my review here

The entire ETERNAL MATES series by Felicty Heaton are on my favorites list. The paranormal world Heaton has built is so rich and detailed I can picture everything clearly in my mind. I can't sing the praises of this series highly enough. Every single story is good and Heaton is publishing the next four in the series close together in 2015 and I am going to gobble them up as quickly as I can! You can see my reviews here. Book 1 -Book 2-Book 3
