When I think of this series I can hear Barbara Streisand gently singing "Memories...like the corners of my mind..." I love this book. As a matter of fact I love all of Garwood's historical romances. This one was published in 1989 and I read it shortly after reading some Kathleen Woodiwiss novels in the early 90's. Garwood and Woodiwiss were my introduction into the romance genre and I have a special place in my heart for their books. Garwood writes some of the best romances featuring highland warriors. What is it about a man in a kilt wielding a sword that speaks so loudly to we women? Women of all races will melt over a strong bodied man with an alpha attitude and wearing a kilt. I don't even try to understand it, I just happily float down that stream. If you want a romance that is more gentle in describing passionate love scenes than some of the more modern erotic romances please try this book or any of Garwood's many books set in the highlands. They are worth every penny and you will find yourself rereading and enjoying them every time.
