Bold Tricks (The Artists Trilogy #3) by Karina Halle Review

Hallelujah for BOLD TRICKS! All throughout books 1 and 2 I had issues with Ellie. I had such a hard time having empathy for her. The questionable choices that she continuously made just irked me to no end. Ellie's unrealistic expectations of both Javier and Camden showed how selfish she could be at times. However, with her family history and her own sense of abandonment and betrayal by everyone she ever loved does make her behavior a bit more understandable. With what happens in this installment, and more information being revealed I was finally able to be more sympathetic to Ellie overall.

BOLD TRICKS is action packed and there are a lot of things wrapped up here. The ending was fast paced and satisfying after all of the turmoil, ups and downs, and down right craziness that happened throughout this trilogy. This is definitely one of those reviews where I have to be purposely vague so as not to give away any spoilers! No matter who you are rooting for Ellie to end up having a happily ever after with you won't be disappointed in the conclusion of the ARTIST'S TRILOGY!

Happy Reading!
Monica

Synopsis

The Faster They Live, the Harder They Fall . . .

Raised by con artists, Ellie Watt has a lot of crazy childhood memories-but none crazier than being scarred with acid by the demented crime boss Travis Raines. Now Ellie is a full-grown woman who lives for revenge, and Travis is a full-blown drug lord who kills for pleasure. The sadistic bastard has kidnapped her good friend Gus as well as her mother, whom he's been holding as prized possessions in his heavily guarded lair. And Ellie has only one chance in hell of getting them out alive-using two dangerous men who love her to death . . . One is Camden McQueen, a talented tattoo artist who's made a permanent mark on Ellie's heart. The other is Javier Bernal, her fiery ex-lover who's busted more than a few heads in his time. From the crime-ridden streets of Mexico City to the predatory jungles of Honduras, this unlikely trio forms an uneasy alliance in the deadliest game of all-a gun-blazing battle to the finish that will pit enemy against enemy and lover against lover. And Ellie must choose the right man to trust . . . or die.

About the Author

Lorelei James is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of contemporary erotic western romances set in the modern day Wild West and also contemporary erotic romances. Lorelei's books have been nominated for and won the Romantic Times Reviewer's choice Award, as well as the CAPA Award. Lorelei lives in western South Dakota with her family...and a whole closet full of cow girl boots.

Why do I have a particular fondness for all things western? Well, I'm a fourth generation South Dakotan, living in the Black Hills, which is chock-full of interesting characters, including cowboys, Indians, ranchers, and bikers. The geographical diversity of the surrounding area showcases mountains, plains, and badlands. Living in and writing about rural settings gives me a unique perspective, especially since I'm not writing historical westerns. Through my fictional world, I can show the ideals and the cowboy way of life are still very much alive.
