This second installment in the CHASING FIRE series is even better than the first. Hudson is a wonderfully sexy, playful, and seductive hero. Hudson is determined to get what he wants from Allie and when Hudson sets his mind to seduction Allie doesn't stand a chance. Hudson is sexily persuasive with a wicked sense of humor. His dialogue is written with such clear inflection of smirkiness that I found myself smiling while reading because I could vividly imagine what that sexy snark would sound like coming from Hudson.
Allie is reeling from her loss which causes a major change for her professionally that ends up also affecting her personally. (Trying really hard to not reveal spoilers!) More information about Hudson's past is revealed. Both Allie and Hudson have to do some forgiving and releasing of the past in order to build trust and have a happy future together.
RELEASE ME is not just all sexiness it also has engaging drama that steam rolls to a crashing end that yes, ends in a cliffhanger. Thank heaven this is a trilogy so even with the ending that will leave you twitching there is the lure of closure when RECLAIM ME releases in October.
