WICKED FALL overall was a good read but there were some things that didn't work as well for me. Woolf has contradictions that I didn't enjoy. Although Woolf claims to be comfortable and even proud of his chosen lifestyle he almost seems apologetic when it comes to his desires with Callie. I understand that he didn't feel that Callie would be able to appreciate and enjoy what has become a staple in his life, but Woolf made it seem as if he thought what he did was wrong. Yet he turns around fairly quickly and introduces her to his lifestyle and commences to tempt her into things he feels she is too good for. As a participant and proprietor of his own sex club Woolf shouldn't feel that his form of kink would corrupt Callie. Woolf claims to be comfortable with his choices but it felt as if it weren't for his best friend Bridger he may never have become involved in the kinks that he has. Also with all of his concerns and hesitations he participates in something with Callie that was very unexpected.
Bridger stole the show in this one and for me was much more fascinating than what was happening in the main story. It could very well be a case of it's me not you with the way I experienced this story. I may have just read one too many stories where an innocent young woman is being 'corrupted' by the more experienced and sexually adventurous man. However, Woolf just didn't come across as a confident and mature man. He was more like a young man still finding his way. It seemed as if the only real adult in the story is Bridger and this wasn't his story. I believe that's why I didn't connect overly well. WICKED FALL has a very New Adult feel and that didn't draw me in well enough. I had somehow thought that Woolf would be a stronger and more self assured man. Despite all of that I will give the next book in the series a try and I will definitely read Bridger's book when his turn comes around.

DeleteI know. I mean I get it some girls may be virgins but let her have a reason or make sense like she shoot I am not a writer...something. Busy with life, college. working multiple jobs. The dude she was in love with all her life before him could not get it up due to a horrific high school football accident heehee. But I am still confused as to what this book is about lol Other than a freaky rich rancher gets a virgin?
