Zane is a great lead in SINNER'S STEEL. He's edgy and moody, but still has a soft spot for the one woman that he wanted but wasn't able to have. With his life in the club and everything that he has to do to keep him and his brothers ahead of everyone else, Zane doesn't mess around and get tangled up emotionally with the women who hang around the club. However, there is something that is part of Zane that he doesn't share with Evie, but unfortunately the reader doesn't really find out what it is. We have a inkling as to what he may be holding back, but no definite answer. At least not that I was able to clearly see having been revealed. Since each of the books in this series focuses on a different couple, I am afraid that there won't really be an answer to this missing piece about Zane. As for Evie, I enjoyed the fact that she has a talent that fits into and is appreciated by biker culture. Being a custom motorcycle artist is a nice twist. However, Evie's decisions and behaviors did sometimes come across as naive and immature for someone supposedly familiar with the ways and rules of the biker lifestyle.
SINNER'S STEEL is a quick and enjoyable second chance at love story. The chemistry between Zane and Evie is strong and the fact that they both had complicated lives separately made their renewed connection more complicated but stronger in the end. This was a nice addition to the SINNER'S TRIBE series and I look forward to reading what Castille will give us next.
