YOURS TO KEEP opens with Ana Travares having to fend off the unwanted attentions of Ed Branch, who lets her know that if she gave him what he wanted he would help her cover up the fact that she has no legal papers proving that she can legally live and work in the country. Ana depends on her tutoring to earn a living, but also can't imagine going down the road of basically selling herself in order to keep her job. The drama and stress in Ana's life just ratchets up from there. Ana is an illegal worker through no fault of her own. After coming to America as a small child with her mother and brother she simply falls through the cracks since her mother never bothers to register their family legally after being abandoned by her husband and eventually dying of stomach cancer. Enter Ethan, a.k.a. Dr. Handsome, a widower who hires Ana as a Spanish tutor for his teenage son. Although Ethan is a pediatrician he is having major trouble communicating with and relating to his son.
The chemistry between Ana and Ethan is great and the story is an emotional ride that you won't regret taking. Another bonus to the story is that there is a bit of diversity in the characters. Ana is Latina and from the Dominican Republic.
