The Lovers and Liars Trilogy

This box set is not for the faint of heart or those with a short attention span. Each of the three books are long books which I normally enjoy, but the stories were not enjoyable for me. The shortest was Danger Zones and was about 491 pages. Beauman has created a complex world and they are well written, but I just couldn't get into them. I definitely couldn't marathon them all. The only one of the three stories that I was able to finish was the first in the set, Lovers and Liars. Gini and Pascal are both in messy places in their lives when they meet again after having had an affair years earlier that ended because of a lie told by Gini that could have easily ruined Pascal. Sextet and Danger Zones were harder for me to get through and I did not finish either. I simply did not enjoy the stories very much at all. I do not like books that even hint at incest and that is definitely a part of Danger Zones. That is a theme that I simply do not enjoy and wish that I had realized that incest in any form would be a part of the stories and I would not have wasted my time. Unfortunately, this is not a set that I would recommend.

I received a copy of this set from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
