Painter has just served a short stint in jail and has found unlikely solace in letters from shy and unassuming Melanie. Melanie is proof that you shouldn't discount the quiet ones. Quiet and gun shy when it comes to bikers, Melanie never wants to get into any of the trouble that her best friend Jessica seems to attract. Melanie proves that a passionate nature doesn't have to be showy or outrageous. She has a wild side but she is selective with whom she shares it with and I loved that! Painter owns all of his negative qualities and really doesn't make any apologies for being who and what he is. However, Melanie is the first person to make him want to be the one to give her something better. It just doesn't always work.
REAPER'S FALL is packed with a lot of progression in the overall series story as well as the relationship development between Painter and Melanie. The things that disrupt Melanie and Painter aren't fair and could possibly have been avoided but it made for good tension. When all is said and done Painter does follow through with what he warns Melanie to be true all along. The club and his brothers are his main priority and the rules of the club will always be upheld by him. This didn't make me happy because it causes them to have a significant amount of time apart. (All of the big twists are spoilers and they are good!)
Although I am a fan of this series. I have to admit that I am a little surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. I was never overly interested in Painter's storyline because of his history with Em. Not only was he a jerk to her, but Painter also came off as just immature and too young to be a hot biker. But dang if Wylde didn't turn that around for me in this one. Wylde made me see Painter in a whole different light and I can now put him in the hot biker category!
Happy Reading!

Synopsis
He never meant to hurt her.
Levi “Painter” Brooks was nothing before he joined the Reapers motorcycle club. The day he patched in, they became his brothers and his life. All they asked in return was a strong arm and unconditional loyalty—a loyalty that’s tested when he’s caught and sentenced to prison for a crime committed on their behalf.
Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she’s learned to fight for her future. She’s escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can’t forget. It all started out so innocently—just a series of letters to a lonely man in prison. Friendly. Harmless. Safe.
Now Painter Brooks is coming home… and Melanie’s about to learn that there’s no room for innocence in the Reapers MC.
