November Book Haul

I had a particularly good book thrifting month and bought thirty eight books. That's a lot of books even for me! My local Goodwills provided the bulk of them, but I also ordered a few books online and I even won a book at the end of October from Mocha Girls Read that I received on the 31st, so I am including it with this haul. I am not going to bore anyone with all of my finds so I am just going to haul the ones that I was most excited to find. I hope that you enjoy a peek into all of the book goodness that I found!

Amazon Finding this book was a true case of serendipity. I found a pristine copy at Goodwill a few days after the election. I have enjoyed the devotional themes so far and plan on reading one a day starting January 1st. Maybe it will help me find a little peace in what promises to be a stressful and disheartening 2017.

Amazon I really enjoy historical fiction and I have been eyeing this series in bookstores for a while now and just never picked it up. I was thrilled to see a like new copy the first book in The Empress of Rome series at Goodwill for $1.

Amazon I love the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and I have eyed this book since it came out. But I am not so sure that it will be a good read at all, but for $1 I'll take that risk and it is in like new condition.

Loki, the Light-Bringer, the misunderstood, the elusive, the handsome and modest hero of this particular tissue of lies. Take it with a pinch of salt, but it’s at least as true as the official version, and, dare I say it, more entertaining.

So far, history, such as it is, has cast me in a rather unflattering role.

Now it’s my turn to take the stage.

Amazon I was GOING to buddy read this one with my daughter, but she didn't wait on me and read it in one afternoon. I suppose that I can forgive her since she is in college and won't have time to really read for pleasure any time soon.  So I guess that I will read it sometime over the winter. ;)
