In Maybe Tomorrow the pursuit of love has led to betrayal and disappointment for both Eddy and Henrik. I completely understood her need to guard her heart and not leap into another relationship so close to making a big life change. No one wants to feel like a fool over and over again. It is hard for Eddy to trust her own instincts when love hasn't exactly been good to her when she has taken chances before. Eddy is one of those characters who could get in her own way. There are moments when you just want her to stop messing around and let Henrik give her what she proclaims to want.
Henrik isn't your typical romance alpha and I appreciated Golden's departure from the aggressive and difficult leading male character. Henrik is calm and self possessed without all of the outward machismo that we often get, and albeit enjoy, in romance. Henrik is more placid and quietly sexy. He's a perfect case of still waters running deep and I for one thoroughly enjoyed that. Don't sleep on the quiet ones, they can surprise you with what they have in store for you!
