Although His Paris Affair is book 3 in The Albury Affairs series it can be read as a stand alone and that is how I read it. That being said, I do wish that I had read the first two first because it would definitely have made the family dynamics between the Sinclair and Albury families more clear. Not having read the first two didn't at all take away from this one, but it would have helped a bit, especially in the beginning. I found that I had to be somewhat patient when it came to Melody and her choices and remind myself of her age and immaturity at times. I did however get the reasoning behind some of her decisions even if they weren't ones I would have personally made.
Melody and Ruiz are friends first, but find it harder and harder to fight their growing attraction for one another while traveling together for the family business. Ruiz wants to respect the boundaries between them because of his friendship with her brother and the closeness of their families. However, Melody knows what her heart wants and what it wants is Ruiz in both her heart and her bed. Melody makes the mistake of trying to rid her heart of Ruiz and destroying what she had imagined in her mind to be their future by attaching herself to the next man that comes along. Predictably this does not go well and definitely not according to any plan that Melody had. After being separated for a time Melody and Ruize's reunion is much more than either bargained for.
If you are a fan of new adult romance His Paris Affair contains enough angst and conflict to keep you engaged and turning pages to see if Ruiz and Melody make it to their happily ever after.
