In No Regrets we get the ongoing saga surrounding two very dominant men vying for one woman desperate to find her own way in the world. Rebecca has left France and is now in Germany where her problems have followed, but now Rebecca has the added distraction of her sister Lily and the action that occurs after Lily's arrival.
Rebecca is not as malleable in No Regrets and her stronger personality comes through more. I enjoyed that Rebecca tries to take back more control this time around. In Lost In France I felt that Rebecca was too overwhelmed by Alain and Maxwell. The instant lust and immediate physical interactions between Rebecca and both men was a bit jarring at first. Even with Rebecca's need to disengage from her previous life and relationship in Australia I thought her engaging in what she did with Alain right off the bat was a bit too much.
The story doesn't end here and we'll just have to wait for the final book in this trilogy to see how things play out for Rebecca. I go back and forth as to who I want Rebecca to choose so I am glad that I won't be making that decision in the end! The Firebird Trilogy is a well paced, erotic read that provides the twist and turns needed to keep you reading on and anticipating the final installment.
