Someone To Watch Over Me by Sienna Mynx Review

This was a quick and easy read that left me feeling the way that I want to feel at the end of a book. I had no real questions about what happens next, there were no holes left open, everything was neatly and believably tied up at the end. In an era of cliffhangers (which I hate with a passion) I appreciate a well written and complete story when I get one. I don't see this as being the start of a series, just an enjoyable one of stand alone book.

I have recently begun reading biker/Motorcycle Club books and the worlds created are often gritty, rough, violent, and descriptive. Mynx definitely puts her own spin on the MC world by giving us a look into a black club that is on the verge of imploding. At the center of their downfall is a young woman seeking revenge and justice for her murdered brother. KaeCee is a club princess who goes against everything that she was raised to believe in, to live and die for, all to see the man responsible for her suffering and the death of her brother pay for his crimes.

Brought in by the Spyders to find KaeCee, Brick can't seem to bring himself to shake his unusual but intense attraction to the young woman on the run from one of the most powerful MC's in the country. After finding her, Brick has to make a choice between going with his gut or honoring his contract and turning KaeCee over to the club who has paid him well for his services. Brick is a bit different from most of the heroes we get in romance. Brick doesn't trust his ability to make confident and well thought out decisions. As the story develops it is revealed why he has the problems that he does. However, I don't believe that a man can be a trusted enforcer for the Russian mob, survive that service, and run his own business and be overly unintelligent. Maybe not a genius, but definitely not stupid. You simply don't survive the life that Brick has led being dumb.

Oh, if only Jason Momoa could act well because I could so see this as a movie! Maybe Ryan Hurst who played Opie on Sons of Anarchy could play Brick. Oh well, a girl can dream! In typical Mynx style, you get an interesting story with just the right amount of steaminess in Someone To Watch Over Me. All in all another good addition to my ever growing Sienna Mynx collection.

Happy Reading!
Monica
