Windy City Kink books 1 & 2 were my first reads by Kelly Jamieson and I am so glad that I have found her writing. Both Sweet Obsession and All Messed Up provided independent, strong and relatable heroines who have the courage to reach for what they want in their lives even when it doesn't fit in with what the feel is "normal". Although both of these stories are definitely erotic they also contain full and enjoyable stories as well. These are in no way sex scenes with a story forced around them. You get a real story with the sexiness as a bonus. The characters are fully believable and relatable.
In Sweet Obsession, Sasha gets a chance at rekindling a relationship with her high school love. Jack and Sasha shared their first love together, but after an embarrassing encounter that was discovered by Sasha's parents they are separated. Neither has forgotten the other, but have gone on with their lives. After being forced from Sasha, Jack was driven to become extremely successful and has returned to see if there is anything left to rekindle with Sasha. Jack has learned a lot about what drives him and how to channel his desires appropriately and in a safe way. Sasha is still uncertain and insecure about her own desires. By taking a chance with Jack Sasha learns to trust him to help her discover and embrace her own needs. Sweet Obsession provides a well written erotic romance that will appeal to a wide variety of readers. There aren't any hardcore or disturbing scenes, just sweet kink that will keep the reader flipping pages.

In All Messed Up, Mallory and Joe take advantage of a chance encounter and lowered inhibitions to take a breather from both of their very messy lives. The troubles that Mallory and Joe face are realistic and relatable which made it very easy for me to become invested in what happens to them both. Mallory, like many women, takes on more blame and guilt than was truly justified but it just made her character more realistic. Joe is dealing with his feelings of inadequacy after always falling short of the standards set by a man who turns out to not be his biological father. By searching out his biological father Joe is looking to find where he truly fits in and connecting with people who will feel more like home to him. Coming together by chance proves to be the best bit of luck for both Mallory and Joe. The fireworks explode swift and hot for this couple and the journey they take both together and separately made for a fun read.
