Although in love, Brent and Shannon's relationship didn't survive their careers taking them in different directions. Neither are willing to give up opportunities that suddenly appear for them both. A lack of maturity on both of their parts meant that the relationship that they had begun to build just couldn't survive the pressures the first time around. Neither Brent nor Shannon were wrong in what they wanted; it just meant that what they wanted professionally didn't line up with what they wanted in a relationship. After being separated for years and both having success in their careers being brought back together means a second chance at happiness.
Once Brent and Shannon are together again the sparks fly and things between them burn hot and fast despite Shannon's attempts to not fall back into Brent. Good gravy Brent! I never once thought "Hey, I bet a comedy writer would be sexy" but Blakely has made me a believer that a man with a sense of humor can make a super sexy hero. Witty, flirty, and a little dirty Blake is wonderful! Although Shannon is smart, talented, and confident in her own right with a man like Blake in pursuit she didn't stand a chance!
SWEET SINFUL NIGHTS is a seductive contemporary romance that can make even the most seasoned of romance readers blush. Erotic, descriptive, and even fun there is no way that I could have walked away from this story. The secondary characters are just as entertaining as Brent and Shannon. Shannon's brothers are sure to provide much more entertainment in the following books. The only problem? The ending isn't a cliffhanger but it leaves you chomping for more!
